July 24th in Utah is a very celebrated day. It is the day that the Mormon pioneers entered the Salt Lake Valley. After traveling 1,300 miles, starting the winter of 1846 from Nauvoo, Illinios through Iowa, Nebraska, and Wyoming, they made it to Utah July 24, 1847. We are most grateful for the sacrifices of leaving homes, leaving belongings, and leaving buried family members along the trail. The pioneers left comfort, left a beautiful built city, and basically left it ALL so that we have the great place we have to live today.
